Prana and GO TO-U on the benefits of participating in "Climate Innovation Vouchers"
Already on January 17, 2022, a new wave of "Climate Innovation Vouchers" will begin, where Ukrainian small and medium-sized businesses can receive up to 50,000 euros for the implementation of "green" technologies.
Two Ukrainian companies Prana and GO TO-U, winners of the waves of the previous stages of "Climate Innovation Vouchers", during the online meeting "By the mouth of business: how to get money for "green" technologies" shared their success story and talked about the development opportunities they received after participating in the project.
Co-founder of Prana Roman Kuzych said that they are engaged in the development and implementation of decentralized ventilation systems with heat recovery.
"These are our patents and our technologies, these are our inventions, production, implementation system and system of both warranty and post-warranty maintenance, that is, we close the full cycle. We are quite highly specialized, we work only in the direction of ventilation, which allows us to be in the first leading positions on the world market in terms of ecology and product quality in this narrow segment," Roman Kuzych explained.
Instead, GO TO-U develops software for electric car charging stations and creates an entire ecosystem, the goal of which is to ensure seamless charging of electric cars in the city and on trips.
"Our task is to make people want to switch to an electric car, if only to use GO TO-U," the co-founder of the company said Lena Artemenko.
These two Ukrainian companies work in many countries of the world, and thanks to the Vouchers received, the number of countries where their services are provided has only increased.
"Today, we officially deliver products to 42 countries of the world. But in our business, rather, the distribution goes to climatic zones, to certain customs of people, opening windows, ventilation systems. When we go to the morning of a country, we try to study what is happening in that region in order to be able to predict the correctness of the approaches and the correctness of the messages and to guarantee a positive work with potential or final consumers and dealers. We get an understanding of the problems of the clientele or the premises, which are in one or another climatic zone, which allows us to provide the effective part as accurately and efficiently as possible, and as least expensively as possible," said Roman Kuzych.
The Lviv company GO TO-U has also long since gone beyond the borders of Ukraine and their services are already used in 47 countries around the world.
"If we talk about roaming, we are in many countries. To date, there are about 300,000 charging stations on our platform. There are about 47 countries where you can use our application and the services we offer in the application. We work with 12 countries in a more specific way - this is already a complete range of services, because we have a product for business, and there is a product for the end consumer - the owner of an electric car," said Lena Artemenko.
The winner of the Climate Voucher advised startups not to delay raising funds for business development.
"I would start by urging startups to try with all their might to get financial support as soon as possible. Climate Voucher is a great opportunity and it is very important not to miss it. Therefore, I strongly advise you to take part in the activities created by Greencubator. First, it is knowledge. Secondly, this is a huge support. And thirdly, this is financing without which no business can fully grow," Lena Artemenko advised.
Thanks to the Climate Voucher, the company developed software for the platform: improved the functionality of the mobile application and created a charging station user account.
As the co-founder of GO TO-U said, participation in the project helped her to believe in herself even more.
"Of course, we believed even more in our strength, in the possibility of entering international markets. This aspect of receiving a Voucher cannot be taken away - you begin to understand that your idea is not something local. This is something that people from other countries can believe in and that brings value that is valued by huge funds," commented the winner.
Roman Kuzych said that thanks to participation in the "Climate Innovation Vouchers" project, investors became interested in their company and now they are negotiating with potential partners.
"Thanks to the received grant and cooperation with Greencubator, we were filtered into a certain category of companies and to this day we receive various investment offers and are in the stage of negotiations with various possible partners," noted the representative of Prana.
These two Ukrainian companies took advantage of their chance and received a Climate Voucher, which gave a new impetus to business development and access to international markets. This year, dozens of Ukrainian companies that want to integrate climate solutions into their business can also receive up to 50,000 euros.
