We rejoice, sincerely advertise, grow together with the graduates of the Climate Innovation Vouchers (#CIV) project from the EBRD and the EU. Your successes are our joint victories in the green innovation sector! Today we share news from Delfast, Sarbominer and Releaf Paper
What's up Delfast?
The Ukrainian company Delfast aims to change the future of transport by producing electric vehicles with zero emissions into the air and with a neutral carbon impact on the environment. It is the world's leading manufacturer of e-bikes with exceptional range, power and speed – the e-bike can go longer on a single battery charge than any other in the world (228 miles)!
In 2019, the company received grant assistance from the "Climate Innovation Vouchers" project. This made it possible to certify bikes in EU countries and enter the European market. Now Delfast conquers the American market…
The new Delfast California electric bike model has already been called a symbol of resistance in Ukraine. The design was already developed during the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, when part of the team was in Kyiv, and part was in Los Angeles. Plans for 2023 include tripling sales and starting production of bicycles in the United States. And these are not just dreams. Here is a telling detail - US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken mentioned Delfast at the largest investment summit SelectUSA.
"Our team is excited about the opportunity to develop and promote a Ukrainian product in the United States. Without you, friends, our once small startup could not even dream of such recognition," the company responded.
!! We are proud of our graduates
What's up Sarbominer?
Innovative startup Carbominer (carbominer.com) is developing technology to capture carbon dioxide from the air. The obtained CO2 is supplied to other businesses, in particular, to greenhouse farms, which use it to accelerate the growth of products.
The Climate Innovation Vouchers grant in 2022 covered the costs of patent protection of the Carbominer CO₂ Direct Air Capture technology, as well as the development of a program for remote monitoring of the equipment.
In 2023, Carbominer developed a pilot plant of 1.2t Direct Air Capture (DAC) machine with an international industrial partner. They recently completed a second pilot installation. The improved technology made it possible to achieve greater savings in trapping costs. The demonstration took place in cooperation with a corporate partner in Vienna, Austria. The company itself called it a modest but important step for the team on the way to market.
The startup plans to scale its DAC technology to an annual capacity of 50 tons! (Learn more - https://shorturl.at/auFW7).
Carbominer also became a resident at Google for Startups Warsaw Campus.
!! Keep it up! Fair international wind!
